There is nothing contenting and gratifying than helping others who are in need. There are millions of people in the Asian continent who live without the basic utilities and amenities that are required daily. There are countless number of children who are engaged in child labor and they are deprived of needful education. What they expect is a little help and assistance that would enable them to lead a normal life. Since his childhood, KP Yohannan was deeply disturbed with the agony and distress of these marginal and downtrodden people. Now, he is regarded as one of the visionaries and pioneers who works selflessly to reach these people and provide them food, clothing, shelter and medicine.

Early Life and Education

KP Yohannan was born in the year 1950. He was brought in the small village in Kerala, India known as Niranam. Niranam, though a small village, it has high cultural and historical significance for people belonging to christian faith. St. Thomas, the disciple of Jesus Christ planted the first church way back in the year 52 AD. Yohannan comes from this holy land. At the tender age, he developed attachment with the teaching and messages of Jesus Christ. At the age of 16, he made up his mind to serve people and dedicated his life to God.

He joined the Operation Mobilization, an effort to reach the downtrodden with the Gospel. He served it for eight long years and traveled the remotest places to serve the poor people and victims of natural disasters. In the year 1974 he moved to United States for theological studies in Texas. Eventually, he qualified with BA in Biblical Studies thus becoming the first international student to graduate. But even studying in the distant country, he did not forget his countrymen. With deep aspirations to work for the people and follow the path of God, he came back to the country.

Work Life

KP Yohannan with his wife Gisela started the organization Gospel for Asia in the year 1978. This organization’s primary mission is to reach the poor people affected with various problems and issues and serve them according to their definite requirements. He tells that his source of inspiration is Bible which provides all the answers to the problems and gives hope and confidence to deal with every challenges.

At Gospel For Asia, he emphasizes on training and building national missionaries who will be in charge in their respective native nations. They will not face any language and cultural barrier and they will understand the problems better. Through this organization it organizes various programs like Bridge of Hope (child sponsorship and education support), disaster relief camps, distribution of bible and gospel, Jesus Wells (installation of wells) and many more. It now reaches several nations of Asia.

Other works

KP Yohannan has also written various books on spiritual guidance and about about his own experiences. He also takes part in various radio and television programs to reach the people who are living in distress and need some spiritual assistance.

Being associated with a wide range of activities, KP Yohannan is committed to make a difference in the lives of these poor and indigent people. His wife and two grown up children supports him in this mission.
